Girls’ Night In And DIY Bath Salts

Moms deserve a night to themselves from time to time, right? I certainly think so, and that’s why I like to have my moms friends over for a girls’ night in. I’d love to have everyone over monthly, but everyone is so busy we are lucky if we get together quarterly. Sometimes we get together and just hang out, but when I am feeling up to it I love create a themed girls’ night in with a DIY project for our get togethers. 

For past girls’ night in crafts we’ve made hairbows, wreathes, journals and more, but this time I thought we should make something just for the moms to enjoy — something to encourage relaxation. So we made DIY bath salts with essential oils. Bath salts are really easy to make and don’t take much time, which leaves lots of time for chit-chat. (I’ve learned that simple crafts are best for our nights because we tend to talk and laugh a lot – especially when I serve Moscato!)

Speaking of Moscato, I discovered a new brand of Moscato wines that are deliciously sweet and refreshing – Gallo Family Vineyards Moscato.

For our little project, I offered everyone their choice of three essential oils to scent their bath salts – lavender, peppermint and Joy. Of course, I had to create printable labels for their bath salts, which were a big hit.

For our girls’ night in we sampled the Moscato chilled and straight out of the bottle. Not surprisingly, my favorite was the white Moscato. Although I also enjoy the sweet, fruity flavors of the blush and red too. Feeling creative? Moscatos also make a great base for a punch or a homemade sangria.

Moscato Punch 

• 1 bottle of Moscato wine
• 1 can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
• 2 liter lemon lime soda
• 1 cup strawberries sliced
• 1 lime sliced
