Let’s Go Gators!!!
Spring is in the air and in between prepping for my daughter’s 5th birthday, Easter and general spring cleaning (that must be done!), it is time to cheer for the Gators as they make their way (fingers crossed) to the finals!
GO GATORS GO!
We are serious about our Gators in our family. My husband and I are both alumni as are my parents and my sister. I grew up going to Gator games, taking in my first game in Gainesville when I was two years old. In this house, life revolves around Gator football season. While attending University of Florida, I also found a love for Gator b-ball cheering for our team in the Rowdy Reptiles section (sigh, the good old days). Of course, it wasn’t until after we graduated that the Gators brought home the championship. But oh we were so close, close enough that there was some couch burning happening after one big game! (Yep, Gator fans are crazy. No, I was not part of the couch burning I was across the street.)
But I digress…
Game viewing is much calmer these days. These days it is typically in front of the TV, with our girls, surrounded by friends and family.
With an SEC Championship securely under our belts, this season as all the markers of a big one. They could go all the way… Of course, there’s a lot of ball to be played first.
Since I know we will need some munchies for game time, I headed out to Walgreens to stock up. I had a few things in mind that I know we will need, i.e. Coke and some chocolate! When I arrived I was pleased to find a special offer on Coke & chocolate. Oh happy girl.
BTW – If you are interested in really impressing guests for game-day celebrations, check out these fancy Hershey’s chocolate creations.
Unfortunately, I was also on a mission to find a rare and hard-to-find item for my husband. A special flavor of limited-edition chips, I searched and searched to no avail. No chips for hubby. I hope the other goodies I picked up will serve as consolation.
Since Coke was on special this week, I decided to really stock up. One can never have enough Coke, plus now we will have enough for both impromptu Gator celebrations and K’s birthday party later this month.
In one quick trip I was able to find everything we need to keep bellies full while cheering on our team from nuts and chips, to crackers and chocolate, even adult beverages (just in case games don’t go well…). We are now officially ready for playoff season to begin.
If you are the type who likes to make games a bit more interesting, check out the Coke Zero Bracket Challenge for your chance to win cool prizes.
Let’s Go Gators!!!
Look for munchies like Coke Zero and Reese’s on sale at Walgreens throughout playoff season.

As a Buckeye wife, it’s hard for me to root for the Gators but those are two of the cutest little Gator fans I’ve seen!
