A Little “Me Time” & A New ‘Do, Thanks Hair Cuttery ~ Giveaway

It’s really hard to carve out some “me time,” really hard. So hard that I typically just skip it. That includes getting my hair done. I have been blessed with super think (I mean super think) healthy hair, and I tend to take advantage of that and just let it go. I have been known to go a year + without seeing a stylist. Even on a more “regular” schedule it is like two-three times a year. (I know, I know…)

While I used to be a natural blonde, eons ago, my hair continues to get darker and darker. Although I still have a few natural blonde streaks in it, it isn’t enough for me. So my motivation usually comes when I see a picture of how dark my hair has gotten, then it is straight to the salon.

Things were getting pretty dark up there, so last minute I left the kids with my husband and headed up to Hair Cuttery to take care of business and enjoy a bit of “mommy time.” Getting my hair done is a quite a time commitment – three hours. And it is always fun to see the reaction I get from a new stylist when they inspect my hair. (I am telling you, I have a lot of hair.) It is inevitable that at some point in the coloring process I always hear these words, “I am going to have to mix up some more color.” Makes me laugh.

Hair cuttery before

Wondering how long it has been since I got my hair done? I last had my hair done for my sister’s wedding… six months ago. It was to my chin.

I had a lot of time to observe while sitting in the chair and under the dryer, and I was amazed at how many people came in and out. A couple with a brand new baby, a dad with his young kids, a pregnant mom getting her last trim in before the baby, a couple of teenage girls and many more. It was a busy Sunday at Hair Cuttery.

Most people came in for a quick cut, but some (like me) lasted longer getting a color or other process. (Did you know Hair Cuttery offers a lot more than cuts including coloring, waxing and texturizing services?)

Getting your hair highlighted is such a glamorous process, don’t ya think?

Finally my “me time” was over, and it was time to head home to show off my updated look – lighter,  brighter and a little trim. Whatcha think?

Hair Cuttery After

While you can walk right into Hair Cuttery without an appointment, and it seemed most people did this while I was there. I actually made an appointment before I went – I don’t like waiting. I also discovered that Hair Cuttery lists its current promotions on its site, so you should definitely check there before you go too!

Find out about more promos via Hair Cuttery on Facebook and Twitter.

  1. I am like you and only get my hair highlighted once a year and and hair cut maybe one more time then that. Me time, just doesn’t happen…or I don’t allow it to happen. So I would get a hair cut for sure and maybe highlights…maybe, lol!

  2. I am lucky to have 2 cuts per year! My last cut WAS at hair cuttery because I like the convenience of dropping in w/o an appt (my typically salon takes weeks to get into, which is absurd)! I’d LOVE to have the Double Dimension w/ partial highlights!

  3. It’s been a while since I’ve had my hair colored so I think I’d get the Color Escape package. It’a hard to go wrong with a color, shampoo, cut & blow dry!

  4. I would definitely love to get highlights, probably partial! I recently cut off 8-10″ of hair and now would love to try something new with highlights. Thank you for the chance to win!!
