The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That: Safari, So Good ~ Giveaway

I cannot adequately express how much I live The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That series. It is cute, clever, educational and… my kids adore it. Not to mention that I am partial to retro throw backs, and who didn’t love Dr. Seuss as a kid? Dr. Seuss would be proud of the adaptation of his work, it is worthy.

In the newest DVD release from the series, Safari, So Good, The Cat In The Hat takes his pals Nick and Sally on a safari adventure.

It’s time for a safari, so come and explore with the Cat and his friends on adventures galore. We will reach for the treetops and swing through the trees, When we walk like giraffes and swing like monkeys! Join the Cat in the Hat on this brand new safari adventure! Help him find the missing stripes for his hat, swing with silly monkeys and discover how footprints are made!

The catchy tune “Here we go, go, go on an adventure. The thingamambob is up and away…” is sure to get stuck in your head. But you won’t mind a bit because if your kids soak up the show like mine, educational tidbits like animal facts will get stuck in their head too. And they will love watching the DVDs.

Episodes from Safari, So Good include:

  • Treetop Tom
  • Stripy Safari
  • King of Swing
  • Elephant Walk
  • Follow the Prints

In addition to DVDs, The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That series is also available in accompanying books. While we have several of the DVDs, the Safari, So Good is our first book. As expected it follows the theme of the DVD with bright illustrations and Dr. Seuss’ sing-song rhymes. (I could almost year Martian Short, the voice of The Cat, in my head when I read the book to my girls.)

In this latest installment of The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library, the Cat Takes Sally and Nick to Africa — where they meet some really big cats and all sorts of other animals too, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, warthogs  buffalo, baboons, side-striped jackals, spotted hyena, pythons, vipers and six kinds of antelope. Young readers will learn how animals are either predators or prey, that elephants tend to favor one tusk over another, how to tell the difference between and white and black rhino (both of which are gray!), and much, much more.

  2. I’m not sure which one my nephew would enjoy. He is still really small and not talking but I want to start him out with some good books so that they will continue to read to him as he grows

  4. O my goodness – my students would love these! I would choose – Now You See Me… (Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat) (Step into Reading), but if I was teaching health I’d totally get the human body one. I might have to see if my library has some of these!
