Ask my daughter her favorite band, and she will tell you Sharkey & Bones. What? You aren’t familiar with that band? You must not watch Disney Junior 24/7 like we do — that’s the guys from Jake and the Never Land Pirates. (Now you remember, right.) We have the CD, and every time we get into the car I hear a request for “Jake please.” (We have had the CD since last Christmas, so it has some staying power.) As much as my pirate princess loves Jake, other than the tunes and DVDs we don’t have any toys from Never Land, until now. When I saw the Who Shook Hook game from Wonder Forge, I was hooked.
From the manufacturer:
In the Disney Jake and the Never Land Pirates Who Shook Hook Game, Captain Hook is snoozing in his hammock, surrounded by all the treasure he’s nabbed from Jake and his pirate crew. Spin the spinner to choose your challenge, then use the sword, the fishing pole, or the shovel to pluck a piece of treasure! But steady as she goes you need to grab the loot without sending Captain Hook tumbling into the water where Tick Tock Croc awaits. This imaginative, play packed game is sure to be a hit with clever little pirates.
Why I Love It – Simplicity. The game is super simple to play, but fun for the whole family. (Well, not so much my one year old who just smashes everything, but adults and kids.) It is one of those games that causes a lot of laughter as players try their best (and fail) at getting Hook’s treasures without knocking him over.
See the game in action:
Buy it – The Who Shook Hook Board Game is available on Amazon or Toys R Us. (I think I saw it at Target too.)
Great Gift For – Intended for ages 4-5, but I would say pirate-loving preschoolers 3+, their older siblings and parents.
