VeggieTales has done it again, the lovable talking vegetables have introduced another wonderful story to my daughter. Mixed with strong messages of kindness and faith, The Penniless Princess is another VeggieTales hit in our home.
Like other VeggieTales DVDs the story behind The Penniless Princess is one you may have heard before, but you’ve never seen it quite like this. Those Veggies have a knack for storytelling!
About the movie:
Sweet Sara Crewe has everything a little girl could want – a loving family, lots of friends, and a closet full of frilly dresses! But when life takes a turn and Sara goes from riches to rags, will she realize that her true worth lies not in what she has, but what she has in her heart? Find out in this inspiring new story from VeggieTales that reminds kids who they are in God’s eyes.
In case you aren’t familiar with the story, I won’t giveaway the ending. But it will leave you and your children smiling, and isn’t that what all great kids movies are about?
While this “princess” tale is bit different from traditional princess stories, K says the DVD ranks right up there with her favorite VeggieTales stories: Sweetpea Beauty and The Princess and the Pop Star.
VeggieTales: The Penniless Princess is now available on DVD, and makes a great gift idea for your little princess!
For some added fun, enjoy a free, printable coloring sheet from the movie.
