We’ve amassed quite a collection of Disney movies over the years. Typically releases trickle in one here and there with a new favorite being released just about the time we get tired of watching the last favorite over and over. But wholly moly, Disney’s last re-release included a whole library of movies! Disney recently released from its vault five new collections. Plus two of the re-releases are double movies, so that’s seven new movies that recently found their way into our home. (We are going to have to start filling yet another drawer soon.)
Now available on DVD/Blu-Ray:
- THE RESCUERS: 35th Anniversary Ed & THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER – 2 Movie Collection
- THE ARISTOCATS: Special Edition
- LADY AND THE TRAMP II: Scamp’s Adventure – Special Edition
- POCAHONTAS & POCAHONTAS II: Journey to a New World – 2 Movie Collection
- THE TIGGER MOVIE: Bounce-a-RRRific Special Edition
My K had seen commercials for The Tigger Movie coming out for weeks prior, and had informed me do such. So when she came down with a cold the week after school began (of course) I was able make her smile by whipping out a copy of the movie she had been looking forward to for her to veg out on the couch with. (What a good mom.) She even watched all of the bonus features too.
Even though she was super sick, the movie still managed a few smiles. If you have a Pooh fan, this movie is a must see. I have to say that of the bunch, this one is my personal favorite.
Of the movies, K had previously seen only The Aristocats and The Rescuers Down Under. While she was happy to now own her very own copies of those movies, she was especially excited to watch the new movies. I was particularly excited to see Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp’s Great Adventures as it was the only movie I hadn’t seen before. It didn’t disappoint. The sequel is really cute with lots of musical numbers and references to the original including Tony’s Italian Restaurant.
Since this was my daughter’s first introduction to Pocahontas, I was happy to see her dancing to “Colors of the Wind” instantly falling in love with the references to nature and recognizing that the settlers were “bad” in ignoring the environment. (I have taught her well.)
Each of these movies make an excellent addition to our Disney library. Whether you want to introduce them all at once (say for Christmas) or trickle them into your collection don’t miss them while they are out of the vault.
PLUS through September 30, 2012 get $10 off when you buy any two of these movies from Amazon. Click here for details.
