Hallmark’s Family Christmas Traditions ~ Giveaway

Have you been into a Hallmark store yet this holiday season? If not, you are missing out on cool stuff. We stopped at Hallmark while at the mall over the weekend, and my husband and I were amazed at all of the cool stuff. From the return of our favorite annual tradition, the singing plush snowmen, to tricked out Prep and Landing gear and the Peanuts gang in its own musical band, the “toys” at Hallmark have gone totally interactive. It was all we could do to keep from filling our shopping bag with all the goodies, but we were able to hold back and managed to make it out of there with just the three cards and snowman that we planned for.

The holidays are all about making family memories, and Hallmark has some great things to jump start your memory making. In addition to the toys at Hallmark being just plain cool, Hallmark does an excellent job of creating traditions with series like our snowmen that return year after year. Of course, we have to have the newest snowman in the series each year!

The newest addition to our family’s Hallmark Christmas traditions, not including our snowman of course, is the Countdown to Christmas ornament. K is really into the Christmas countdown with her advent calendar, so the ornament was a perfect addition. Everyday, she taps the ornament to see it light up and wants to know, “Now, how many days till Santa.” (Even though she does this several times a day, it is still adorable.) The countdown ornament is a perfect fit to our Christmas tree of memories.

Hallmark’s recordable story books, are another great way to start a holiday tradition. We are lucky that in our family, both sets of grandparents live in town. But for those who aren’t able to spend the holidays with extended family, recorable story books are an excellent way to stay connected.

Not to be out done by the toys, Hallmark will always be known for its cards. If you are purchasing personalized greetings this holiday season, use the coupon code SOCIAL20 on purchases of $20 or more to get 20% off. (Code valid through 1/12/12.)

  1. My favorite tradition is loading everyone up to look at the lights 🙂 We listen to christmas music, eat yummy snacks and find the best decorations!

  2. I love all of the new items at Hallmark! My 4 year old got to pick out his own ornament for the first time this year. (We have been overseas for the past 3 years). I’d love to add this countdown one to our collection! :0)

  3. I actually did not buy a Hallmark ornament this year for the family. Money is tight and that’s okay but I’d love a chance to win! Thanks for that chance!

  4. I love writing in our family Christmas journal every year…to walk down memory lane after Christmas puts a new perspective on the New Year.

  5. Forgot the tradition. It is tradition for us to have monkey bread and mountain man breakfast on Christmas morning before we open gifts.

  6. decorating the tree! we turn on christmas movies, get some popcorn and hot cocoa and decorate! we used to decorate gingerbread houses too, but i dont have the strength for that now. im disabled, and have gotten worse by the year.

  7. decorating the tree! we turn on christmas movies, get some popcorn and hot cocoa and decorate! we used to decorate gingerbread houses too, but i dont have the strength for that now. im disabled, and have gotten worse by the year. as far as the extra info form on the other giveaway, it didnt pop up, so i entered the tj maxx giveaway

  8. We love to open our gifts at dark on Christmas Eve, after indulging in snacks and goodies made by all in the family. This makes for some of my favorite memories

  9. there wasn’t an extra space on the rafflecopter for the other giveaways I entered. I entered Busytown and the perfect Christmas gift.

  10. My mother started a tradition when my brother and I were kids that I have past down to my children. We celebrate the 12 days of Christmas to get into the holiday spirit. The 12 days leading up to Christmas are filled with a new surprise every morning. Sometimes it’s just a simple note or ornament and some days it’s a bigger treat, but every day is a reminder of family and the reason for the season. Merry Christmas!!!!

  11. We found an Emerson the Elephant book and stuffed animal at Hallmark the other day. It was a had to buy considering I didn’t have to pay to have the book personalized. 😀

  12. My favorite tradition is getting together with friends and baking christmas cookies. We have a great time and this year made 86 dozen. Also love being home on christmas day and family and friends come over for dinner. We have our traditional surf and turf. Usually steak and scampi.
