Green Halloween – National Costume Swap Day October 8

Halloween is all about the candy and the costume. But costumes are expensive, and what happens to that oh-so-perfect costume after the big day? (Please don’t tell me you throw it away!) In addition to being economical, you can also go “green” this Halloween by participating in National Costume Swap Day on October 8. Swap last year’s costume for a new dud for this year. Costume swaps have been arranged across the US, and you can find if there is one in your area here. If there isn’t one in your area, consider setting one up even if it is just a small neighborhood event.

Already have your superhero’s costume for this year? Consider donating last year’s costume to a shelter for women and children to help make sure the kids there get to dress up for the big day too.
