Alka-Seltzer Said/Heard Mishaps Contest

Have you ever had one of those moments when what you said was so misunderstood that it was actually comical? If you have, then you need to enter the Alka-Seltzer Said/Heard Mishaps Contest. Alka-Seltzer is looking for those funny little misunderstood moments and accompaning funny stories and will award the contest winner: a trip to New York City to star in an Alka-Seltzer online video featuring their entry, the winning spot will premiere on the Alka-Seltzer Facebook page and $5,000 CASH!

Wanna hear my funny story?

On a trip to the mall, we stopped to grab lunch a little cafe (it was Sunday and Chic Fil A was closed). We asked my daughter if she would like a PB&J or Turkey sandwich. She emphatically chose the PB&J and could not stop talking about Daddy bringing her a PB&J while we waited. When Daddy arrived with lunch and presented her with a PB&J sandwich, she burst into tears and shoved away the plate. “No, I want a PB&J!”

And then it dawned on me. PB&J is the name of her favorite smoothie at Planet Smoothie. We had never called a sandwich a PB&J before, just the smoothie. She was used to the sandwich being a peanut butter and jelly. Poor girl thought we were playing the ‘ole swichero on her by offering her favorite snack and giving her a sandwich.

Needless to say hubby and I had a good laugh, and we proceeded to calm her down by offering to get a PB&J on the way home if she ate her peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Now we know.

If you have a funny story, be sure to head over to Alka-Seltzer’s Facebook page to enter for your chance to win. GOOD LUCK!
