Once upon a time, I considered myself a dancer. In fact, I took dance lessons several days a week for 11 years. I LOVE ballet, and my favorite ballet of all time is The Nutcracker. This is why I was so excited to discover Prima Princessa: The Nutcracker.
This was our first introduction to the Prima Princessa series, and I am please to say that K enjoyed the DVD even more than I could have hoped. She sat transfixed watching the ballerinas, and toward the end she even began to dance along.
In Prima Princessa, a group of children watch a performance of The Nutcracker while a ballerina fairy narrates the story. In between acts real ballerinas and children demonstrate and teach specific steps for kids at home to follow along. It is lighthearted and cute. Best of all, it is a wonderful introduction to the arts in a format that kids love.
My princess loved this movie, and I loved that it is educational. You can buy this movie on Amazon for just $6.99 making it a great stocking stuffer.
