2nd Annual Sock Drive

This time of year we are used to seeing food, clothing and toy drives, but Tanner Eaves wanted to do something different. He realized that socks were one of the least donated but most needed items, so he decided to start a sock drive.

At 11 years old, this little guy did more than raise a few pairs of socks. In his first year, he raised 2,860 pairs of socks! That’s a lot of snuggly feet thanks to one little boy.

The 2010 sock drive is now under way, and Tanner is hoping to raise 3,500 pairs of socks this year. Several businesses in north Central Florida are now accepting donations of NEW, unused socks ranging in size from newborn to young adult.

By the way, Tanner Eaves is the nephew of my childhood BFF. So even if you don’t live in the area, if you want to help Tanner reach his goal you can send socks to his daddy’s business

So this year when you are shopping for gifts, think about warming some kiddies’ toes with socks. Learn more about Tanner’s sock drive at www.sockdrive.net.
