$100 Statement Credit from Disney, Chase & Visa

Recently, I was privileged to be a guest writer on Couponing to Disney, blog I read regularly, while she is off enjoying a trip to Disney. Since I think TheSuburbanMom readers would like the post too, I am adding it here to share with you.

Let me know if you get a card! 🙂

It seems like everywhere I turn there is another offer for another credit card. Most of the time, I roll my eyes, shred the offer and move on. But when an offer comes in the mail with Mickey Mouse, I have to take a second look – hey, we all have our weak spots.

After checking into the details, I am now a card-carrying-Mickey-Mouse-Visa Mom. (Before I tell you the details, remember credit card offers vary based on your credit scores, time of year and more.) The application that arrived in my mailbox offered $150 Disney Reward Dream Dollar after making my first purchase with the card. Yes, $150! With plans in the works for a stay out at WDW in the fall, $150 will make a nice dent in the bill. Plus, by using the card to pay for everyday purchases, I will earn even more Disney Reward Dream Dollars to go toward our trip.

Of course, no one needs another credit card, but if you are money-smart and only use your credit card to purchase things you normally buy with cash anyway, rewards cards are a fantastic way to “save.” Since the Disney Rewards Visa Card from Chase doesn’t have an annual fee (like some other rewards cards), it’s like getting free Disney money when you shop. (In order to gauge how many points you can earn in a year, use the fancy calculate on the Disney Rewards site.

Take a look at the card’s perks:

  • Earn 1% on all purchases – for every $100 you spend on the card, earn 1 Disney Reward Dream Dollar.
  • Use your card and promotion code DRVCMEMBER to save 10% every time you spend $50 or more at DisneyStore.com and Disney Store retail locations in the U.S.
  • $50 onboard credit on a Disney Cruise to use toward shopping, dining, spa treatments and more during your cruise when you book with your card and ask for booking code DCC.
  • 0% interest for 6 months anytime you use your card to book Disney vacation packages through the Walt Disney Travel Company, your travel agent, or online at Disney sites.
  • 2010 Mickey Celebration Collectible Pin – only available to card holders.

Perks at Walt Disney World:

  • Character Meet ‘N’ Greet at a private Cardmember location and a complimentary 5 x 7 photo
  • 20% off the non-discounted price on select tours

Perks at Disneyland:

  • Character Meet ‘N’ Greet at a private Cardmember location and a complimentary 5 x 7 photo
  • 10% off at select dining locations
  • 20% off the non-discounted price on select tours
  • 50% discount on stroller rentals

These perks are great for those planning a trip to the parks, but for those who won’t be visiting the parks, you can also redeem your Disney Dollars for rewards vouchers to be used at national stores such as Target for movies, music, toys and more. Click here for details.

And guess what, there are still more perks! Click here for even more offers.

Finally, Disney lovers rejoice – its fun to open your wallet and be greeted by the smiling faces of your fav Disney characters.
