2021 Free Printable Calendar

I think it is safe to say 2020 did not turn out how any of us expected. My calendar remained a lot more empty this year vs past years. I don’t know about you, but I am hopeful and ready to get started filling up my 2021 calendar.

But as much as I am ready to jump into the next year and hopefully the next phase for us all, I have to admit that more time with my family hasn’t been a bad thing.

2021 Free Printable Calendar

I have been using a printable calendar for years. It works well for me. I prefer a horizontal calendar for more writing space, and I keep it in a presentation folder with a clear cover so I can see the month at a glance. Then each month I move the old month to the back.

I enjoy hunting for the perfect calendar each year, there are so many beautiful ones available. But this time I decided to make my own. So, this free printable calendar was designed with my specific use in mind. Hopefully, you will find my calendar helpful too!

Another tip for how I make my printable calendar work for me, I use Frixion erasable pens. They are my favorite. They erase clean so I can adjust my calendar as needed. I keep them in multiple colors for color-coding various tasks so I can tell at a glance what type of task I’ve added to my calendar. And when I need to adjust, the eraser comes in very handy.

I actually keep two calendars – well three technically – one for my work assignments and one for family activities, plus a digital one with reminders for appointments I am likely to forget. It sounds like a lot, but the system works well for me.

2021 Free Printable Calendar With To-Do List

The man thing I added to my calendar that a lot of other free printable calendars don’t have is a to-do list in the margin. I am a list maker, and while I make daily to-do lists on a notepad, I like having a monthly to-do list off to the side of my calendar. I use it for things I want to accomplish for the month, but don’t have a specific deadline. This helps me achieve my daily lists while still having longer-term goals to work toward.

Even though I have a to-do list on the side of the printable calendar, I still made the calendar boxes as big as I can so there is plenty of writing space.

I’ve gone back and forth with a Sunday vs Monday start for my calendar use. But I’ve finally come to the realization that a Sunday start makes the most sense to me. So you will see that I set up this printable calendar with a Sunday start.

Watercolor 2021 Free Printable Calendar

This year I chose splashes of watercolor on each page to decorate my calendar. I like to keep most of the calendar plain white so there is plenty of room to write and it is friendlier on my ink cartridge. But I still want something pretty to look at. So I decided on a splash of color, and each month the color represents the mood of the month.

Now that I’ve told you all about my printable calendar and why I included the elements I did, I hope you are excited to download it and get started planning for 2021. I’ve already downloaded my copy and loaded it in my presentation folder. I even have my first deadline written in for January.

Tip, I made a pretty cover page. But if you don’t plan to use the cover page, print only pages 2-13 to save paper and ink.
