Tropical Trail Mix

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sunsweet Growers. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of my family’s go-to snacks are dried fruits. Ever since my girls were tiny, bags of mixed dried fruits and nuts have been a staple in our house. My family is always ready to sample new and sometimes exotic dried fruits, so I wasn’t surprised that the new Sunsweet Philippine Tropicals were a hit. As yummy as the flavors are on their own, they are even better when combined into a Tropical Trail Mix.

Tropical Trail Mix
The perfect combination of sweet and salty with a hint of tangy from the green mango. It’s a tropical flavor delight.

Sunsweet Philippine Tropicals recently added two new flavors to its lineup including the Philippine Green Mango. My daughter happens to love mangos, but until this sample I had never even heard of a green mango. It turns out that Sunsweet Philippine Green Mangos are picked early, just as they begin to ripen. Much like “reds,” which are early blueberries, green mangos have a unique tangy flavor.

In contrast to the other chewy fruits, the other new flavor is the Thai Coconut Chip. Crisp coconut chips with a satisfying crunch combined with creamy vanilla notes.

The new flavors pair wonderfully with the other Sunsweet Philippine Tropicals flavors – pineapple and mango. One of my favorite dried fruits has always been the pineapple, and the Philippine Pineapple is juicy and delicious, like eating chunks of fresh pineapple. The thick pieces of Philippine Mango are made from America’s #1 Mango and are just like biting into a mango.

SunSweet Tropical Snacks
All of the Sunsweet Philippine Tropical flavors are yummy, but put them all together (with some nuts) and you have a sweet and satisfying snack. If I have to choose between the flavors, I have to say that the Thai Coconut Chip is my favorite (followed by a close second, the Philippine Pineapple). My mango-loving daughter nearly ate all of the mango out of my mix!
