Disney Home Entertainment Preview & 7 Movie Giveaway

The final stop on my trip to California this summer was to visit the Disney Animation lot (so very cool) to get a sneak peek at what Disney Home Entertainment has in store for fall 2013. As a huge movie buff with an ever-expanding Blu-Ray/DVD library, I was excited to learn more about what Disney has in store and get a few sneak peaks that I am only now allowed to share with you.

The biggest release for 2013 is the re-release of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Since my youngest’s favorite princess is Ariel and we have a Little Mermaid themed birthday party planned for October, my family can’t wait for this release. Sure we have it on DVD, but the quality is… old. We can’t wait for a remastered Blu-Ray.

Disney The Little Mermaid Blue Ray

The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition will be available on Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital combo pack October 2, 2013.

In addition to the movie, my favorite new feature is the music video of Carly Rae Jepsen performing “Part Of Your World.” I take Disney remakes very serious, and I was concerned about a remake of one of the best Disney songs of all time. But Carly Rae did it justice, her voice is beautiful, her rendition is melodic and her video is fantastic. A must see – but you will have to wait until October 1, the video is included as a bonus feature with the movie. In the mean time, you can settle for adding the song to your iTunes playlist.

Disney Super Buddies

The other upcoming release my kids are looking forward to is the newest addition to the Buddies franchise. My daughters are big fans of the talking pups.

Super Buddies will be available on Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital combo pack August 27, 2013 (look for my review soon). 

An ordinary day at Fernfield Farms turns extraordinary when Budderball, Mudbud, B-Dawg, Buddha and Rosebud discover mysterious rings that grant them each a unique super power. Before you can say, “Buddies, assemble,” the pups unleash their amazing abilities and race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet. For mom and dad, Disney Home Entertainment will release two hit ABC shows this fall. This TV junkie is a fan of both these shoes and has seen ever episode of either. Lots of drama in both.

Scandal Second Season DVD

Scandal: The Complete Second Season arrives on DVD September 3, 2013.

Nashville First Season DVD

Nashville: The Complete First Season arrives on DVD September 17, 2013.

  104. Definitely The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I love how faithful to the A.A. Milne books it is and I have fond memories of watching it as a child.

  157. I’m really excited for the release of The Little Mermaid. I’m also hoping they release the Blu Ray combo pack for the Little Mermaid 2 as I love both these movies. I’m honestly just so excited to collect all the movies as they come out. I have them all on VHS and now it’s time to collect them all on DVD and Blu Ray
