Two bits. Four bits. Six bits a dollar. All for Monsters University, stand up and SCARE!!!!!
This girl is cheering for the scarers at Monsters U because next week, I will be traveling back to California to attend the Hollywood premiere of Disney and Pixar’s Monsters University. How exciting is that?!?
Even though I have been before, every time I get an invite like this I have to pinch myself. (They like me, they really like me!!!) I can’t believe I get to go back again! This trip is somewhat last minute, and, of course, the first thing I worried about wasn’t who would take care of the girls, it was “What am I going to wear, the event is less than two weeks away!”
My test (to find the perfect outfit) was made somewhat easier when I learned that the premiere party wouldn’t be the traditional red carpet (boo), it would be a tailgate party (yeay!). So more casual, fun and college-like. Then came the bonus section — Monsters University colors are royal blue and white, and when one attends a tailgate they are expected to wear their colors, right? This premiere is no different – all hail the blue and white.
Clearly, I had nothing appropriate in my closet.
Luckily, my mental vision for the perfect outfit came together simpler than I could hope. Although I am still looking for the perfect bangles, and I have given up my quest for white pumps in favor of my nude wedges – I think I will look the part. Collegiate chic. That’s what I am going for anyway.
I’ll share a little tease, but you will have to follow me on Instagram and Twitter to see the big reveal. The party will be Monday, June 17 5-7 pm PST, in case you are wondering.
Let’s talk about my classmates.
In addition to meeting up with several awesomesauce bloggers that I have already had the privilege of getting to know and meeting new bloggers, I will also be in the company of some stars. MEGA STARS.
I will rub elbows with classmates from Monsters University like Billy Crystal, Sean P. Hayes, Joel Murray, Pete Sohn, Charlie Day, Bobby Moynihan, Bonnie Hunt, John Ratzenberger, Noah Johnston, director Dan Scanlon, producer Kori Rae and executive producer John Lasseter.
Plus there will be tons of MU fans attending the bash like Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. (I am totally sure that my a Collegiate chic has nothing on whatever this fashionista will be wearing.) More fans include Alison Sweeney, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ed Begley Jr., Wayne Brady, Brian Chirigos, Tom Dumont, Kate Flannery, Seth Green, Melissa Joan Hart, Boris Kodjoe & Nicole Ari, Oscar Nunez, Tito Ortiz, Adrian & Natalie Pasdar, Scottie Pippen, Troy Polamalu, Karina Smirnoff. From ESPN: Lee Corso and Desmond Howard. From ABC: Molly Ephraim (“Last Man Standing”), Isabella Cramp and Max Charles (“The Neighbors”), Rico Rodriguez and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons (“Modern Family”), Eden Sher (“The Middle”). From “The Blue Umbrella” short: director Saschka Unseld and producer Marc Greenberg.
Ummm yeah, Gwen Stefani.
In addition to all of the Monsters University excitement, we will be touring Walt Disney Studios and Disney Toon Studios. While I am there, I have been told there will be not one, but two more AMAZING opportunities. Unfortunately I have been sworn to secrecy and can’t tell you what we will be doing there – just yet. (I am very excited though!) Again, follow me on Instagram and Twitter for those surprises and more! You can also follow my fellow classmates and all of the fun by following the hashtag #MonstersUPremiere.
Monsters University screams into theaters nationwide June 21, 2013.
I was invited to attend this premiere as part of a blogger weekend. Airfare and lodging was provided, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Are you allowing stow-aways in your luggage?? LOL!
