In anticipation of Monsters University (due out June 21, 2013), Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. has been released from the vault and is back in theaters, this time in 3D. On the heels of the success of other re-releases in 3D like Finding Nemo and Beauty and the Beast, Monsters Inc. is poised to be an excellent choice for holiday movie goers. It’s time to fall in love with Sulley, Mike and Boo all over again.
If you thought Monsters Inc. was a scream before, wait till you see it in 3D.
My favorite 3D part was, without a doubt, the scene with the doors. It was already a great scene, but watching it again with 3D depth was even cooler. As the guys hop from door to door flying through the air, I was reminded again that I totally thing that scene would make an awesome ride. (You hear that Disney, hot ride idea here!)
Just in case you don’t know the Monsters, Inc. story:
Lovable Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and his wisecracking best friend Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) are the top scare team at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream-processing factory. The main power source in the monster world is the collected screams of human children—and at Monsters, Inc., an elite team of scarers is responsible for gathering those precious natural resources. Believed by monsters to be toxic, children are strictly forbidden from entering Monstropolis. But when a little girl named Boo (voiced by Mary Gibbs) accidentally follows Sulley back into his world, he finds his career in jeopardy and his life in utter chaos. So pals Mike and Sulley plot to rectify the mistake and return Boo to her home. But when the trio encounters an unexpected series of complications, they become embroiled in a cover-up catapulting them into a mystery beyond their wildest dreams.

Monsters, Inc. is an excellent addition to Disney’s 3D lineup. Don’t miss your chance to see it on the big screen, and reintroduce your family to the gang from Metropolis to get ready for Monster’s University this summer.
Monsters, Inc is now available for pre-order, available on Blu-Ray/DVD 2/19/13.
Disclosure – I was invited to attend this premiere as part of a blogger weekend. All air fair and lodging was provided, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
