I’ll Be Lounging By The Pool This Summer

In Florida, summer means pool time. There’s nothing better than splashing in the pool on a hot summer day. I have big plans this summer of sitting by the pool doing nothing more than enjoying time with my girls.  Sounds nice, right?

But before the lazy days of summer begin, there is one thing I need to make my lazy days more perfect — a lounge chair. I don’t know why we don’t have one, it is such a simple item, but we don’t and I have wanted one for the longest time. Well, I bet you can guess where this is going… That’s right momma got herself a lounge chair. (And I got one for dad too.)

After reviewing Kmart’s digital outdoor catalog, I knew exactly what I wanted — a pair of Jaclyn Smith Today folding lounge chairs. Not only do they look nice, but they look like they will go very well with the furniture we already have on our porch. Since the Kmart by our house is closing next month, and is in liquidation phase, we piled the family in the car to drive to the Kmart across town that will now be “our Kmart.”

It took about two seconds for K to spot the swinging chair in the middle of the outdoor furniture display. I was glad to have the chair to keep her occupied while we looked around (I tend to be indecisive even when I think I know what I want, and 20 questions from my four year old doesn’t help. So the swing was perfect!)

In addition to my chairs, I got myself another treat (of sorts). I got a cushion. Strolling thought the outdoor section this pretty little chair cushion caught my eye. While we don’t need cushions on our outdoor chairs, my tush could really use one at the kithcen table. You see, that’s where I do most of my blogging and those hard wood chairs are tough on the tush. So much so that I have been sitting on a couch pillow for the last couple of months. Yeay for a cushioned tush. (It’s pretty too!)

One last splurge for the day… a slip n slide. (Perfect for a certain end-of-school-year party I am planning!)

After setting up my new chairs on the pouch, I was inspired to grill out! So Sunday evening turned into a last-minute family grill out and water fun.  A new sitting area, some water play and a yummy dinner — now that’s the way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

It was such a fun impromptu evening. We even invited the neighbor kids to play. Our porch is ready for lots more planned and impromptu parties this summer.
