I am going on a Brandcation!

In t-minus 8 days I will be on my way to my first bloggers conference, and I can’t wait! Although I am not sure when I am going to find time to pack… I am so excited for my very first get away since K was born. That’s right folks, I haven’t left my baby overnight in 2 1/2 years. I know Daddy can handle it, but as I write I am having a mini panic attack because for some reason I thought 3 nights for the first time was a good idea. Yikes! Breathe….

Back to being excited.

First I have to thank my wonderful sponsor Its All Free Online for helping me go to this fabulous event. I posted an interview with Its All Free Online’s owner Matt a few weeks ago, and I want to say it again, “If you like free stuff and you aren’t following this blog do it now!” Its All Free Online ROCKS plus it supports other bloggers too!

Next, let me tell you about this amazing event that I will be attending… I lucked out because I don’t have to travel far for my first blogging event, it’s in Central Florida! (Actually, Kissimee, which is the suburbs on the north side of Orlando.) Brandcation will bring more than 30 bloggers from all over the US together for a blogging adventure – quite literally an adventure, you will see what I mean.

First let me start by showing you where we will be staying in style thanks to Global Resort Homes:

Watch out bloggers, I am totally going to fight my way into one of the Disney rooms! Don’t worry, we aren’t cramming 30 women into that house, we have 4 houses we are cramming 30 women into! Fingers crossed that Wifi holds, or else there will be a lot of unhappy bloggers.

After we move into our new homes on Thursday, November 4, we will enjoy a weekend full of adventure thanks to several amazing companies who are welcoming us with open arms. Even though I am a local, I am excited about this line up because (gasp) I have only ever been a couple of these places, and it has been a long time!

Friday

Adventure number 1 – On Friday we are going ziplining!!! Whooo hooo. Thanks to Florida EcoSafaris we will zip through the trees overlooking wildlife. I know some of the other bloggers are nervous about this event, but I love this kind of thing and can’t wait. Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather for us.

After our zippy day, we will dine at Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner. In fact, I loved this place so much when I was younger that I had my 13th birthday party there. (Yep, this place has been around a while.) I don’t remember much about the party other than the fact that my childhood friend, Joe, was the only boy in attendance. I can’t wait to relive some memories, and make more with my new blogging buddies.

After dinner we will head home for Karaoke night! Warning, to Brandcation attendees, I will request “Livin’ on a Prayer!” Ummmm…. perhaps I will treat my readers to a Vlog…. or perhaps I will save your ears.

Saturday

Our morning will begin with a Air Boat Ride with Boggy Creek Airboat Rides. I have not been on an air boat since I was a kid, and I love boats, so I am really looking forward to this. I remember it was LOUD and fast, since I am a bit of a weanie when it comes to fast, I am a bit nervous about this one. Trust me when I say that I will be buckling that seat belt tight!

The adventure doesn’t stop there, next we will head to Gatorland. Again, another place I haven’t been to since I was a kid. A lot has changed since then including a new train ride around the park. Mom friends of mine say it’s a great place to take kids, so I will be checking this one out for a return visit with my K.

Dinner will be an exotic evening at Arabian Nights. I love dinner shows. This is another one I will be checking out with my daughter in mind, I think this would be fun to take her to.

Sunday

Last, but not least, we will be heading to the Magic Kingdom. Yes, I go here all the time, but to me every trip is just as great as the last. And as an extra bonus, I will get to go with a number of women who have never been. I am so excited to be with them as the experience the happiest place on earth for the first time. Some of the gals are avid pin traders, something I have yet to get into, so I think I will pick up some pins and give it a whirl.

Wow – after going through all that again, I think I might need to nap all day Monday! LOL! Stay tuned for all the adventures during my trip, you can follow me on Twitter, Facebook and watch the blog. I expect some funny pictures to come! And I will be sure to give my local readers the skinny on these tourist attractions from a local perspective.
