Sesame Street Video USB Giveaway

Beta, VHS, DVD, BluRay now USB? Oh yes, now your kiddos can enjoy their fav Sesame Street Characters plugging a USB into your computer and ta-da a movie on mom’s computer. (Another excuse for them to want to take over the computer.)

Seven of your preschooler’s best pals from Sesame Street are now USB drives each with a full-length movie included. Look how cute –>

In addition to coming with a movie on the go, there is additional storage space on the drive to hold approx 400 photos or MP3s. So you pop some pictures on the drive and head to Grandma’s so your cartoon lover can watch a movie on your laptop at Grandma’s and you can show off the fam’s latest pics.

This was my daughter’s first introduction to Abby Cadabby (gasp!). She hasn’t really gotten into Sesame Street yet as she won’t let me change the channel off of a certain mouse, but she was all about her new movie! The movie included on the Abby USB is Abby in Wonderland, and my daughter was hooked. I have a feeling requests for more Abby are coming.

Since this is a USB drive, you do have to plug it into a computer. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. We actually tried it with our media player, but because the movie is in a special format it did not work. Luckily, I am married to techno man so we actually have a computer hooked to our TV and watched it that way. Otherwise, it would have been movie night on the computer. I can see this being very convenient for travel though, no more lugging a DVD player… just pop the USB into my laptop and she’s set.

The only complaint I have about this new video drive is that there is no pause button  on the movie. We discovered this when the doorbell rang just after starting it. (We got “booed” so we needed to stop the movie for K to check out her goodies.) It is very odd to not have a pause button, but we got around the problem by remembering where we were in the movie and then just restarting the movie at that point later.

The drive itself is so cute! Made out of some rubbery plastic, I love that the cover (Abby’s mouth) is attached by elastic to the rest of the drive so it won’t go missing as so many caps do! Once the cap is on, you can actually put the USB on your wrist and wear it like a bracelet, a fact I will not point out to my daughter but is really cute for carrying it.

Buy it – This Sesame Street movie on a cute USB would make a cute stocking stuffer. The USB drives can be purchased on the Sesame Street store for $24.99 each (plus $6.62 shipping) or on Amazon for $38.75 with free shipping (keep checking Amazon as its prices change often).

  1. The little guy will watch Sesame Street for about 5 seconds, but he likes his Elmo. He calls him “Melmo.” Actually, he calls them all “Melmo!”
