This is a sponsored Bridget Jones’s Baby Review, however, all laughter was completely my own.
Ladies, we’ve waited 12 years for the next installment in Bridget Jones’s diary, and it was well worth the wait! Bridget Jones’s Baby comes out in theaters this weekend (September 16), and it is filled with cringe-worthy moments that simultaneously make you shout, “Oh no!” and laugh out loud.
Bridget Jones’s Baby Review
I had the opportunity to attend a screening of the movie a couple of weeks ago along with three friends, and I am not kidding you when I tell you that I had tears rolling down my face from laughter. I don’t remember when I have laughed so hard during a movie. And maybe it is because I am extra sensitive to all things pregnancy related since I am expecting baby #3, but really my friends were laughing just as hard as I was.
How does Bridget Jones always manage to get herself into such predicaments?!
In Bridget Jones’s Baby, Bridget returns in all of her glory along with Mark Darcy. Notably absent in the film (explained early on) is Daniel Cleaver. But since it wouldn’t be a Bridget Jones movie with out love complications, Mr. McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey, joins the cast as Jack Qwant. And boy, does he sweep the audience off its Bridget off her feet.
In the end Bridget has to make a choice, but who will she choose? The awkward ex Mark Darcy or the charming millionaire Jack. You will just have to watch to find out!
Which baby daddy would you choose, Team Jack or Team Darcy?
About Bridget Jones’s Baby
After breaking up with Mark Darcy (Firth), Bridget Jones’s (Zellweger) “happily ever after” hasn’t quite gone according to plan. Fortysomething and single again, she decides to focus on her job as top news producer and surround herself with old friends and new. For once, Bridget has everything completely under control. What could possibly go wrong?
Then her love life takes a turn and Bridget meets a dashing American named Jack (Dempsey), the suitor who is everything Mr. Darcy is not. In an unlikely twist she finds herself pregnant, but with one hitch…she can only be fifty percent sure of the identity of her baby’s father.
The much-anticipated third installment of the Bridget Jones’s franchise welcomes fellow Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson to the cast. Longtime collaborators Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films produce alongside Debra Hayward. Universal Pictures will distribute Bridget Jones’s Baby in North America and select international territories.
