We have extended family in Alaska whom we haven’t seen in a few years, but K still talks about their daughter (who is the same age) as if they saw each other last month. As soon as I learned aboutThe UPS Store’s Delivering Holiday Happiness App, I knew we had to use it on their Christmas package. 

After packing up the gifts, I visited my local The UPS Store to ship the package. While I was there, I asked about including the Delivering Holiday Happiness App to my package.

The Delivering Holiday Happiness App is easy to use and free for anyone shipping a package with The UPS Store. A sticker was attached to the outside of my box with instructions to the recipient to enter a special code to view the video message online. Back at home, I could use the same code to record my holiday greeting or rather my kids could record their greeting.

There are three short video cartoons to choose from, and then you have 15 seconds to add your own recorded message. Everything is done right from you smart phone and within a couple of minutes we had the girls’ message recorded and uploaded to the site. In fact, when the video was ready I received a text with a link to the final video.

Our package will arrive in Alaska next week, and I can’t wait to hear how the kids liked the special video message from my girls.

Holiday Packing Tips

The UPS Store offers these tips for packing gifts this holiday season.

  • Plan ahead – December 15-20 is expected to be the busiest shipping week
  • For last-minute shoppers, December 23 is the last day to ship via The UPS Store for Christmas Eve delivery
  • Take batteries out of items before shipping
  • Use at least two inches of packaging peanuts on each side of your item.
  • Use packing tape on all package seams – do not use masking, cellophane or duct
  • Use a sturdy box – do not use gift boxes to ship gifts or any string or wrapping paper on the outside of the package.
