The Cat In The Hat Tricks & Treats + Word World’s Kooky Spooky Halloween Review

If you are looking for cute Halloween-themed DVDs for your little one without any of the Halloween scare factor, The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That: Tricks and Treats and Word World’s Kooky Spooky Halloween are exactly what you need. My daughter loves to watch holiday-themed shows and movies, and with Halloween just around the corner all she can talk about is trick or treating, pumpkins and Halloween. So, of course, she was more than happy to check out the newest release from The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That and a Halloween-themed Word World. And both DVDs met her seal of approval (and mine too).

If you aren’t familar with the new The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That series, you are missing out. They are smartly written, usually involve animals and are educational. (K can tell you all about nocturnal animals thanks to the Cat.) Mom will also appreciate that Martin Short makes a hilarious Cat. In the new DVD release for Halloween, the Cat takes the kids on three Halloween-themed adventures Batty for Bats, Aye Aye! and Trick or Treat.

Word World is another house favorite. K loves the cute characters, and I love the introduction to letters and spelling. While the Halloween adventure is not a new release, it was new to us and K has already watched the DVD twice since its arrival. In the two episodes on the DVD (Kooky Spooky Halloween and Sheep’s Halloween Costume), the animals of Word World get ready for Halloween with treats, costumes and even a…ghost! (Don’t worry, it is just Sheep sleepwalking.)

Both DVDs are perfect for toddlers and up with all the fun of Halloween and nothing scary. Approx running time 30 minutes each.

BUY IT – Another not-so-scary thing mom will love is that the DVDs are available on Amazon for less than $6 each (and they ship free with orders over $35 or Amazon Prime).

This giveaway has ended, however these are still beloved Halloween treats in our hose.

Disclosure – I was provided both titles to facilitate this review, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

  3. So far we have a bumblebee, ballerina, and black cat. Now we just have to come up with stuff for the other 3. Should we keep with the “b” theme?

  8. Have no children of my own. My sister knows better than to commit or purchase too early…that child is a different character everyday up to the last minute decision on Halloween. Luckily, the dress up box is full! Last night she was a cat.
