PlaySkool’s Deci-Bot Helps Kids Count

I am a firm believer that the best toys are those that subtly teach while being played with. After all, little ones are like little sponges absorbing the world around them, so play time is the time to sneak in the learning.

We’ve been working on numbers recently with my three year old. She already counts like a champ, but has been slower with number recognition and slowing down to count items (she gets so excited she skips items or double counts them). So when I learned about PlaySkool’s new Deci-Bot, he sounded like just the robot for her.

Deci-Bot has two modes – Find it and explore it that offer different interactive “games.” For number recognition, Deci-Bot quizzes kids and asked them to push the number he asks them to. For counting Deci-Bot’s fingers light up to be counted (or he will count them as they light up).

From the get-go K loved her Deci-Bot. Her favorite feature, of course, is when he sings, but she also loves his light up fingers. Here is K with her Deci-Bot (be sure to watch her as she sings along at the end).

We are still working on numbers, but we are making progress, and I definitely think that play time with Deci-Bot has helped. If nothing else, she definitely enjoys playing with her Deci-Bot, and that’s good enough for me.

Deci-Bot retails for $16.99 and is available on Amazon. For more music fun, PlaySkool also offer’s a musical robot pal Maestro-Bot.

Disclosure – I was provided a Deci-Bot to facilitate this review, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
