I am Thankful

Since the day after Halloween, when my daughter asked if we could go Trick or Treating again, we have been talking to her a lot about what she is thankful for and what that means. A simple explanation for a two year old, she has gotten excited about telling me all of the things she is thankful for. Although Christmas is already starting to overshadow Thanksgiving, it was important to us that she understand how it important it is to be thankful.

These are a few of the things my daughter regularly tells me she is thankful for:

  • My friends – Ava, Bella, Olivia… and on and on
  • Mama & Dada
  • Smiles
  • My doggies – Boo-Boo and Bella
  • The animals
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
  • and more

Her list makes me smile and each time she adds something different that we hadn’t talked about before I and I tell her, “Yes, we are thankful for that too.

Here is my own list of things I am thankful for:

  • My husband, my rock
  • My daughter, and her smiles
  • Our health, and our blessings
  • My family, and their love
  • My neighbors, my friends
  • My home
  • Laughter
  • and our many, many blessings

As we sit down tomorrow to enjoy a feast of turkey and all the fixin’s let us all remember to be thankful for the big things and the little things. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

And Thank YOU for reading my blog. Your comments and your emails make me smile each day, I wish you could all know how much it means to me that you take time out of your life to see what I have to share.
