Omaha Steaks Review & Giveaway – Father’s Day

Meat, Meat, Meat, Meat – Meat, Meat, Meat, Meat. That’s my husband’s meat song, I wish I could express tune, but I think the fact that he has one speaks for itself. Hubby loves meat! If your husband has his own meat song, or even if he doesn’t, consider Omaha Steaks as a Father’s Day gift this year. It is a little outside of the box, but it is also very economical — an edible gift!

I have heard of Omaha Steaks – plenty of times, but I had never tried it – until now. It was so cool to receive meat in the mail. My order arrived Friday before Memorial Day weekend – perfect timing – while we were playing in the driveway. Here comes the delivery man with a Styrofoam ice chest, cool. Neatly packed inside with dry ice were 8 burgers and 8 hot dogs. (Not sure what I am going to do with the ice chest, but we saved it to be used again!)

The burgers and dogs joined us at a Memorial Day BBQ, and were happily gobbled down in no time. Yum!

Omaha Steaks may be known for steaks, but in addition to steaks it offers poultry, seafood, side dishes, sauces, deserts and even dog treats. I was amazed at the available assortment.

This Father’s Day, Omaha Steaks is hosting “Why Dad is My Hero” Ultimate Outdoor Cookout Contest on Facebook through June 10. To enter, Omaha Steak fans are being asked to nominate a dad they admire and who has made a difference in their life or in the lives of others. To nominate a dad, just submit a short narrative (100 words or less) describing why dad is your hero, along with a photo. The winner will receive The Ultimate Cookout: a complete Omaha Steaks feast for six, all outdoor table toppers, a gas grill and a Flip Cam to film the fun — retail value $1,500.

Buy it – Check out Omaha Steaks and search for the perfect meal for dad for Father’s Day

Win it – One lucky TheSuburbanMom reader will win a $20 Omaha Steaks gift card

  1. I’d nominate my dad because next to my mother it is so refreshing to talk to a normal parent who actually understands the reality of life! He is a great dad.

  2. The father I would nominate is my own father.
He and my mother had seven of us. We were not an easy bunch but he would go out on the road on Mondays and come back on Fridays to earn a living for us. (He was a manufacture’s rep).
Once he retired we thought things might calm down. They did for a bit. Then one year my sister got sick with stage 4 non-hodgkin’s lymphoma while living out of the country. She moved back to the US with her husband and into a condo down the street from my parent’s house. They went to the doctor and hospital that was thought the best for her cancer.
My father would travel each day the 30 or so miles to be with her so that she would not be alone. Her husband got transferred to the office of his company in the local city and he had to go to work.

  4. My husband is the best dad in the world! He works so hard so that I can be home with the kids during the day and when he comes home, he’s happy to spend time playing with the babies. Every night he bathes the kids while I take some much needed “me” time and he even puts our oldest (3 year old) to bed each night, which she relishes! He’s one of a kind!

  10. My Dad very casually put himself in danger to break his granddaughter’s fall on some boulders. He then downplayed his own injury, waiting until the family left, to get x-rays.

  13. My hero “dad” is a teacher I had years ago. He’s now suffering from dementia, but he was the wisest, fairest, funniest man I have ever known. He became the father I never had, and I trusted his judgment and advice more than anyone else’s.

  17. I would nominate my husband. His work has been very slow and he has been laid off several times over the last year so he has been going to work out of state to help us stay afloat. I know he misses our boys like crazy and it is really hard to be apart but he is making the sacrifice for us.
