Baskin Robbins Brownie a la Mode Review, YUM!

When Baskin Robbins asked if I would like to try one of its new ice cream treats, I jumped at the chance. Mama doesn’t pass up ice cream or chocolate! LOL

I had not heard of Baskin Robbins’ new Raspberry Fudge Truffle a la Mode or the Brownie a la Mode, but both sounded yummy. So after dinner, we headed out for a special Sunday-night treat at Baskin Robbins. I was surprised to learn that the new treats are ice cream cakes, I am not sure what I expected but I was definitely surprised (and excited) when we arrived at our local BR and realized we were getting an ice cream cake.

As we pulled into our local Baskin Robbins, my husband reminisced about the Baskin Robbins down the street from his house growing up. That BR is one of places Bobby and I both went to as kids, one of the many places we may have run across each other as kids and never knew it… but I digress.

The problem with going to an ice cream store is all of the temptation… while we don’t go out for ice cream often, I have a feeling we will be there again soon.

We chose to get the Brownie a la Mode, “Indulge in layers of mini chocolate caramel cups, fudge brownie pieces and caramel over Chocolate ice cream on a base of crushed chocolate cookie.”

In case you are interested in the Raspberry Fudge Truffle, “Mini raspberry filled chocolate cups and white chocolate cookie pieces over chocolate fudge ice cream, a layer of raspberry topping and a crunchy base of crushed chocolate cookie.”

If you are looking for a rich, chocolate, ice cream treat, this is the desert for you. WOW – it was tasty and chocolaty. While the whole thing was good, my husband’s favorite part was the crushed chocolate cookie bottom, but my favorite part was still the chocolate ice cream goodness.

My one hang up was the mini chocolate caramel cups on top. They looked like tiny peanut butter cups, which I LOVE, so when I took a bite, I really wanted peanut butter. I knew it was caramel, but my taste buds really wanted peanut butter. Don’t get me wrong, they were still darn good – I am just more of a peanut butter girl then caramel.

Alright, I have indulged the chocolate goodness for long enough. Here is the important part, these delicious ice cream cakes are part of the Baskin Robbins’ Grab-N-Go treats and they are only $9.99 each! That’s a lot of yummy for $10. Perfect for a last-minute desert for that dinner party or just to surprise the family with an after-dinner treat!

Since it was only my husband and I eating cake – with a few bites to my toddler – there is a lot leftover. So, I plan to share this treat with my friends on Friday night. I will be sure to let you know what they think.

Baskin Robbins provided me with a gift certificate to try this desert for this review, however, the thoughts and opinions in this review are completely my own.
