Count ‘N Crunch Cookie Monster Review ~ Holiday Gift Guide

Nom, nom, nom Cookie Monster loves cookies! (So do I.) And cookie-counting kiddos will love feeding this new interactive Cookie Monster his cookies. Count ‘N Crunch Cookie Monster is a new way to enjoy the blue guy from the Sesame Street gang. With some similarities to the famed Tickle Me Elmo, Cookie Monster loves to talk about his yummy cookies (yes, he likes to be tickled too).

From Playskool:

The Sesame Street Count ‘N Crunch Cookie Monster lets your child treat him to his favorite “food” and hear him counting up to three. Put one of his three cookies into his mouth and it will slide right into his red backpack. He also loves to be tickled–press his foot over and over again to hear him giggle. Soft and cuddly, Cookie Monster is ready for hugs and kisses. He loves them almost as much as he loves his cookies!

Why I love it – He’s blue, furry and cute. What’s not to love! No really, I love that Cookie Monster has a variety of phrases he goes through (including singing about cookies) and the idea of feeding Cookie Monster his favorite treat. A big plus is that the cookies can be stored in Cookie Monster’s backpack, I wish all toys came with their own storage solutions. The only draw back I find to Cookie Monster is that he only counts to three. When I first saw him, I thought he would be a great way to help teach kids to count, but when I got him out of the box I realized he only counts to three. So the whole counting thing is really more of a novelty than an educational portion of the toy. That doesn’t limit his cuteness, just an observation.

Buy it – Count ‘N Crunch Cookie Monster is available on Amazon, currently listed for $24 (free ship with Prime or purchase of $25 or more).

Great Gift For – Sesame Street lovers! The box recommends 18 m – 4 years. I think little ones as young as 12 months would enjoy Cookie Monster with mommy’s assistance making him talk.

He’s really cute, but I agree, I’d like it if he counted to at least 10.
