Send A Little Cheerios Cheer To The USO

Everyone deserves a little cheer, especially the more than 1.4 million active-duty military members who are supported by more than 3.6 million family members. To help make spreading cheer a bit easier, Cheerios has partnered with the USO to launch a “Cheer” postcard campaign.

With specially-marked boxes of Cheerios featuring a “Cheer” postcard, sending Cheer to the USO is easy.

  1. Cut out the postcard featured on the box
  2. Write message of encouragement or a simple “thank you” on the postcard (or draw a picture like my daughter did)
  3. Add postage and drop the pre-addressed card in the mail to the USO. The cards will then be distributed to military families via the USO – spreading a bit of cheer.

Cheerios Postcard Cheer

In addition to the cheer spread by the postcards, Cheerios will donate a $1 to the USO for each Cheer card received from the specially-marked boxes through November 2012. To kick off the program, Cheerios has already donated $150,000 to the USO and will donate up to an additional $100,000 based upon the number of postcards received. The donations will support USO programs that help support military families. So, participation will play a big role in helping raise money to support military families.

The postcard is an easy way to brighten someone’s day, and the donation to the USO for each postcard received is the icing on the cake. But hurry, the specially-marked Cheerios boxes will only be on shelves through the end of November 2011. Since you will have a year to mail in the postcards (to count toward the donation), you can go ahead and stock up on Cheerios now and wait to take apart the box as your kiddos eat their way through your stash.

Cheerios USO Cheer

About the USO
The USO is a nonprofit organization that helps lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families. For more than 70 years, the USO has provided a touch of home to our troops and their families through centers at airports and military bases, top quality entertainment and innovative programs and services. When a loved one is away serving, the USO steps in to be a second family for our military families, providing support and tools.

Disclosure – I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Cheerios and received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to post.
