P.F. Chang’s is cooking up new seasonal flavors for guests who want to be inspired by the change of seasons. The Fall Seasonal Menu includes dinner entrées like a Shanghai Waldorf Salad, Miso Chicken and Harvest Vegetable Quinoa “Fried Rice.” Fall drinks include an Apple Cinnamon Martini and desserts include Pumpkin Wontons.
I am currently drooling over the thought of Pumpkin Wontons. Just saying.

In addition to the new menu items P.F. Chang’s is offering, it is also hosting a contest that invites foodies to share their own fall inspired dishes for a chance to win a trip to Napa Valley.
The Goodness of Fall Contest is your opportunity to showcase your culinary and creative skills by preparing a fall-inspired dish of your own. Dishes for the contest should be prepared with at least three of P.F. Chang’s fresh seasonal ingredients (the same ingredients feature in the Fall Seasonal Menu). Find the ingredients that inspire you, and get cooking!
Fall ingredients include: flank steak, butternut squash, corn, brussels sprouts, red quinoa, kale, candied walnuts, Chinese broccoli, Asian mushrooms, green apples, daikon sprouts, prawns, Fresno peppers and scallions.
The top 5 recipes that show creativity with Fall ingredients, great visual presentation, and support from the voting public will be submitted to our panel of experts, who each bring their own perspective on what makes a great fall dish. The expert panel of judges includes Philip Chiang, co-founder of P.F. Chang’s; Yuji Iwasahead, Development Chef for P.F. Chang’s; Mary Melton, Director of Beverage for P.F. Chang’s and Jennifer Chong, food blogger.
The grand prize winner and one lucky guest will win a two-night trip to Napa Valley in Spring of 2014, including an exclusive chef’s dinner at a vineyard where judges Philip Chiang and Yuji Iwasa will be cooking some of their favorite dishes. P.F. Chang’s Director of Beverage Mary Melton will also be there, guiding the winners through an extensive wine tasting. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime Napa Valley weekend. And it could be yours.

Grilled Flank Steak
To help get your creative juices flowing, if I were entering the contest I would put a fall spin on of my family’s favorites — grilled flank steak. My daughter loves steak, I mean loves steak. There was a while she requested steak almost nightly. At P.F. Chang’s her favorite dish is the Mongolian Beef. One of her favorites at home is a Grilled Flank Steak with a homemade marinade.
For the contest, you need to use three ingredients listed. So instead of serving the flank steak as a meat and potatoes dish I would turn it into a salad. Diced on top of a bed of spinach leaves and paired with green apples and candied walnuts, it would be a delicious for dinner or a great way to eat leftovers for lunch the next day. I would also add dried cranberries, parmesan cheese and a light dressing. (It wouldn’t need much dressing since the steak is so flavorful.)
