My Head-To-Toe Look From Kohl’s ~ $100 Giveaway

Over the weekend I did something I haven’t done in a long while. I went shopping, by myself, for myself. Waaa hooo! It was such a treat. Usually any new additions to my wardrobe are grabbed as I am rushing through the store with my girls in tow or purchased online. (Thank heavens for online shopping.) It was such a nice treat to have two hours to myself to browse the racks and actually try on clothes! 

The inspiration behind this treat was Kohl’s Grand Opening Sale. Kohl’s is celebrating the Grand Opening of three new stores in Michigan City, Ind.; Hyannis, Mass. and Keene, NH. (Congrats to folks in those areas, you are gonna love Kohl’s!) To celebrate three new stores, Kohl’s held Grand Opening sales in all stores across the country and online. (It was like a big party where the guests got to save money – sweet!) 

My challenge, from Kohl’s was to created a head-to-toe look for fall for $200. After scooping out the women’s department, and filling my arms, this is what I concurred. So fun.

So here it is, my head to toe look. Everything you see is from Kohl’s (except for my rings).

I quickly discovered that I adore the Lauren Conrad line for Kohls. I am slightly obsessed with lace right now, so I totally got into her many shirts with lace detail. I tried on a LOT of Lauren Conrad clothes, and apparently she and I share a similar style. 

Finally I settled on a shirt and a pair of jeans that I had to have (both Lauren Conrad). As a work-at-home-mom, I don’t need a lot of dressy clothes, but I do need nice casual looks. The shirt I choose will be perfect for running around town and even volunteering in the classroom (which I start this week!).

After choosing the perfect outfit, I was off to accessorize. Kohl’s has a great selection of costume jewelry. In fact, last time I needed accessories for an event (the Monster’s University Premiere) I came to Kohl’s for the perfect bracelet and jacket. I quickly found a necklace and bracelet that I had to have. Since I lost my last pair of silver hoop earrings, I was pleased to find a new pair for less than $10. Then I spotted some Halloween jewelry and I decided to throw in some orange and black bling for fun.

And let’s talk about those sunnies. They were a last minute addition to the look. A FL girl can’t go outside without sunnies, and I have been wanting a pair of gold aviators. So when I spotted these from afar, I had to have them. Up close, I realized they are also Lauren Conrad.

Next I was off to go shoe shopping!!! Fall makes me think of boots. I was thrilled to find these flat boots by Candies. I have problems with my feet and I can’t wear most boots because the heel height is to high. I already have a pair with low heels, but these flat boots will be perfect for everyday. They are so comfortable, I might actually wear them every day. (Although I have to wait a few weeks, it is still 80 degrees out and people would look at me funny.)

Finally momma decided to get a new bag. I found a great black bag from Simply Vera by Vera Wang. Big and roomy — just the way I like it.

After checking out and ringing everything up, I realized I was still only at $165 for my entire look. So I went back and purchased a second shirt by Lauren Conrad. Since everything I bought coordinates, it is really like I got two head-to-toe looks for $200. How’s that for smart shopping.

Plus it is Kohl’s Cash time where you earn $10 to shop later for every $50 you spend, so I also earned $$$ to come back and shop later. (I already know what I am going back for!)

  87. I would love to win to buy clothes for my son in his second year in medical school. They go to alot of marathons and other social events around the community so he is representing the college in a way so we want him to look presentable. We are so proud of him and all of our children. 🙂

  98. I would shop for nice casual clothes. I buy things then realize that they don’t look nice on me. I would spend more time and choose smarter clothes that I can wear and over time still wear and feel good about how i look.

  105. I would shop for a brand new pair of jeans. I have lost a lot of weight recently..I started dieting and exercising like crazy and have already dropped 3 pant sizes. I can’t wear any of my jeans now and all my clothes look baggy on me..making me look bigger. I would love to get some new shoes and shirts as well for fall!

I try to plan my Christmas shopping around one of those events – I do the first trip, get the cash back, and then go back and do some more with my bonus – Kohl’s makes it so easy to save money and get good deals – it’s hard to go wrong!!   284. If I won the gift card, I’d go fall shopping as well! LC has SUPERB style and I always find myself ooh-ing and ahh-ing over all of her gorgeous jewelry! But I live in the desert where it’s crazy hot in the summer and quite chilly in the winter, and since having a baby I am in need of a wardrobe update!
