While my eyes welled up with tears watching my five year old joyfully bound up the steps of the school bus for a short first bus ride around the parking lot, she was all smiles and giggles. Practically leaping from the bus steps after the short ride she has been looking forward to for weeks I managed to capture this moment as she ran toward me to tell me all about her “trip.”
Yes, she is ready for Kindergarten. But am I?

K turns five this week, and to celebrate we got her a swing set. She looked like a game show contestant when we told her about it, squealing with delight. She was even more excited when she came home one day to discover it installed. I predict a lot of time outside this summer, and many years of enjoyment.
I’ve lived in Florida my whole life, but I have never been inside the Daytona International Speedway let alone been to the Daytona 500. (Sad, I know.) This past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend my first race, and I had even more fun than I expected. Of course, it didn’t hurt that I went in style — VIP access to the pits during the race!
The long-awaited day finally arrived – the premiere night for Disney Junior’s Sofia the First! To celebrate, we hosted a princess PJ party. The evening began with giggles and laughter, but as the show began silence befell the preschool crowd as they watched intently. As the credits rolled, they got up to dance and cheer. Sofia was a hit!
