Maclaren Stroller RECALL

Posted by 9 November, 2009 (1) Comment

Maclaren announced a voluntary recall today of all Maclaren strollers after reports of children’s fingertips being pinched and amputated by the stroller! (OMG!)

Maclaren is offering a repair kit to cover the stroller’s hinge, which poses the problem, for all strollers affected. The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

Although I have never had a problem with my Maclaren, I will defiantly be ordering the kit! You can find out more on the Maclaren web site - WARNING the site is jammed up today with traffic. If you have trouble try back later.

Important Info about Children’s Tylenol Recall

Posted by 25 September, 2009 (0) Comment

This is like a Mommy nightmare. Tylenol is voluntarily recalling certain lots and batches of it’s Children’s liquid Tylenol manufactured between April, 2008 and June, 2008, for potential bacterial contamination.According to the Orlando Sentinel,  ”The company said in a letter that no bacteria were found in the finished product, and that the likelihood of a serious medical event is remote.” Still after all the pet food recalls a few years ago, this freaks me out!

So, besure to check your bottles to make sure any product you have isn’t included in the recall list. For more information check the recall list and visit Tylenol’s website.

Pottery Barn Kids Stands Behind Its Products

Posted by 16 September, 2009 (0) Comment

My personal love fest for Pottery Barn Kids continues.

A few weeks ago, I learned about a recall announcement for window shades sold at PBK. It turned out that the shade I purchased for K’s bathroom was, in fact, part of this recall. I purchased the shade on final clearance knowing that I couldn’t return it if it didn’t work out. I don’t usually do this, as I am prone to returns, but I was sure it was perfect. Well, it wasn’t. I was a bit too narrow for the window, and it would have looked goofy. So, back into the box it went. I planned to resell it on eBay, but it just sat in the guest room.

When the recall was announced I was more than happy to return my unused, and now deemed, unsafe window shade to PBK. So, I called about my recalled item, set it outside in the box for UPS to pick up and I waited. Yesterday, a gift card appeared in the mail for $46.00 – the cost of the shade, plus tax, plus shipping (for my trouble). I got back every penny! Even better than just a return. LOL!

Thanks PBK for standing behind your products. More than getting my money back, I am happy to have been informed of its potential danger and getting it out of my home.

Now, what to buy with my $46.00?
