Capturing Memories With My Verizon Droid RAZR

I am the mom with the camera. Always. I dare not miss an opportunity to capture a memory of my girls. Over the years, I have gotten very good at remembering to bring the camera. What I have not gotten good at remembering is to check the status of the battery and make sure the memory card is actually in my camera. I cannot begin to explain to you how frustrating this is.

While I still prefer my camera, my Droid RAZR provides a solution. Yes, I know most phones have cameras (including my old phone), but not all camera phones are created equal. The camera on my Droid RAZR is eight mega pixels with a flash. For non-camera people, that means I actually get a decent picture from the camera. Don’t get me wrong, I am not ditching the good camera, but in a pinch at least I won’t miss the memory.

Here are some pictures I took with the camera on my Droid RAZR.

(Who needs toys, I’d rather chew on my toes!)

In addition to pictures, the Droid RAZR takes video (something I have never had on a phone). Like the still pictures, it’s not just video, it’s good, HD video. Having never had video on a phone before, I didn’t really think about video quality until a friend sent me a video she took on her phone of our girls. While hilarious because our girls are adorable, it was terribly grainy and pixelated and the audio was hard to hear. Not my video, check out my tiny dancer shot with my camera phone when yes, I forgot the memory card in my camera.

Not too shabby right?

I Am A Verizon Wireless Ambassador

I was attending Les Misérables with my father when the email came though. I actually squealed with excitement. I was chosen to be a Verizon Wireless Ambassador and test out some of Verizon’s latest and greatest technology. For once, I would be the one in the house with the newest and coolest phone, yippie.

Let me introduce you to the coolest, sleakest phone this gal has ever owned. The Droid RAZR.

DROID. It’s even cool when it powers up and says it’s name. (A quick aside. After I set it up I left it in the room with my daughter to finish a system update and reboot. When I returned K exclaimed, “Mommy, your phone said TOYS!” DROID vs TOYS… Well, apparently they sound similar enough to a three year old. So even K thinks my phone is cool.)

When I signed up for the program, the big mystery was what phone we would receive. Since my father recently received a the Droid Razr, I had it in my head that would be the phone to test. Although my techy hubby suggested it might also be a Galaxy Nexus or even an iPhone (insert ohhhs and ahhs here). When we were given a clue about gorilla glass, I knew it was either the RAZR or RAZR MAXX. (Not familiar with gorilla glass, it is supposed to be scratch and shatter resistant – whooo hooo! I don’t know about you, but I am always dropping my phone.) So far, I am please as a peach with my RAZR!

I am no stranger to smart phones, I carried a couple generations of the Blackberry in it’s hay day, and I have even owned two Android phones. But this is the first Verizon phone I owned, at least in as long as I can remember, at some point my memory goes fuzzy on carriers past. And my other phones, they weren’t the tip-top coolest like this little piece of machinery.

So far, this is one happy mom. I haven’t played with things too much yet. But when I have it is fast, which is good since I have zero patience.

There will be much more about my Droid RAZR in coming weeks. I can’t wait to put it to day-to-day use, and tell you want this mom things of her new phone. If you have any questions you’ve always wanted to ask about the phone, let me know. I will figure it out or be happy to ask.
