Mom’s Wish

Have you ever watched Mary Poppins with a twinge of jealousy? I don’t need a nanny, I need the nanny’s magical power to clean up a room. I know she says, ” In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun, and – SNAP – the job’s a game! …” But cleaning is so not a fun game to me… :)

I inherited a double-whamy of being a pack-rat and a piler. I can’t get rid of anything (I might need it!) and I am forever creating new piles of stuff. For me, cleaning often involves moving piles from one place to another. It’s bad… (Don’t go picturing some TV-worthy horded, I am sanitary and I run a functioning household, but it does make my hubby nutso.)

Wouldn’t it be nice to have your very own janitorial cleaning service come to your house. Of course, if my wish were to come true, this wouldn’t be your ordinary cleaning service. This would be a special, read-my-mind kind of service that could magically put things away where I would always know where they are. Oh yes, my service would empty the dishwasher, put away the laundry, file my papers, pick the toys and basically organize my life. Oh, and while they were at it, they would dust, vacuum, scrub, wash, polish and generally make this place spotless. Yep, that’s mom’s wish.
