5 Question Friday
Every Friday, Mama M. hosts 5 Question Friday, here are my answers to her 5 questions. If you are feeling motivated, leave a comment answering the 5 questions about yourself, I love to learn about my readers!
1. If you could speak with a different accent, what would it be (i.e Australian, Scottish)?
British. I had an English roomie in college (Hi Ros), and she made everything sound so “lovely.”
2. Can you fall asleep anywhere? (i.e. floor, couch, deck)
Pretty much. I might not be comfortable and might wake up with a crick in my neck, but I pride myself in being a good sleeper.
3. Do you use public restrooms? If so, do you sit on the toilet?
Blah…. I HATE them. But yea, when you gotta go, you gotta go. NO WAY do I sit. Ewww, ewwww, ewww. BTW public restrooms are the #1 reason I am afraid to potty train my daughter.
4. If you were stuck in an elevator for 24 hours, what celebrity would you most want to be stuck with?
Ummm…. I don’t want to be stuck in an elevator for 24 hours, thank you.
5. Where did you & your significant other go on your 1st date?
First date
If you don’t count all the times we hung out as friends first, which we don’t, our first date was a movie night. To be more precise, it was a double feature, and it was the one and only time I ever snuck into a movie (gasp!). (He was cute, what can I say.) We went to see (and paid to see) “Not Another Teen Movie,” and it was HORRIBLE. Seriously, it’s really bad. Somehow after the movie he talked me into sneaking into “Behind Enemy Lines” (with some line about how we paid all this money for such a terrible movie). Behind Enemy Lines is still one of my favorite movies because of that night
I was 22, and it was the one and only time I did anything like that. Since we have been married for 6 years, I am glad I did.

1. What is the first nightmare you remember?
Yikes! This is, unfortunately, an easy one for me. I had this reoccurring nightmare when I was a child that I still VIVIDLY remember. It was about giant spiders (bigger than our house) coming and attacking my family. They were always snatching family members and basically cocooning them. It was super scary, and to this day I do NOT like spiders! Yuck!
2. Even if you’re not a sports fan, what’s your favorite sport to play/watch?
Not a sports fan, say what?!!?!? I am a die-hard Florida Gator fan. I LOVE college football. I can talk trash and stats with the boys. I know my football, and I don’t miss a game! Don’t mess with me during football season! Go Gators, beat Tenn!
3. If you could pull off one piece of trendy fashion, what would you want it to be (jeggings, hats, thigh high boots, etc.)?
Ohhh, I would want to pull off all of the trends that my sister looks FAB in! Mostly I would love to be able to wear heels again… I had bunion surgery in 2007, and my poor foot hasn’t been the same since. I used to live in heels, now I can only wear shorter heels for short periods of time… I miss heels. I also miss having a reason and a place to wear all the trendy stuff. Chasing around a toddler, a funky t-shirt and shorts with flops is my day-to-day wear.
4. Did you make good grades in school?
LOL. I was a maniac for good grades. I made straight As, always. After graduating 3rd in my HS class (I made 1 or 2 Bs), I made my 1st (and only) C+ in college, and I was damn proud of that C+ b/c I worked my tail off. In my world, I HAD to have As. In fact, even my blood type reflects my need for good grades. Yep, I am A+ We will go into my neuroses for achieving top marks and why it made me a stress ball another time. LOL
5. What magazines do you subscribe to?
Oh goodness, I am a magazine junky! Hello, that’s what I do for my real job! Let’s see my current subscriptions are for Parents, Parenting, All You, Real Simple, OK, Family Circle, Working Mother, Fast Company… I think that’s all right now. Oh and I work for PLAYGROUND Magazine, feel free to check us out!

5 Question Friday
Every Friday, Mama M. hosts 5 Question Friday, here are my answers to her 5 questions. If you are feeling motivated, leave a comment answering the 5 questions about yourself, I love to learn about my readers!
Did you miss me last week? I was on a plane to NJ and just couldn’t get to posting on the go. But I am back and here are the 5 questions for Friday.
1. Do you feel guilty spending money on yourself?
Yep. We are on a tighter budget than ever before, so spending money on me seems so frivolous. I would much rather make sure my daughter and husband have everything (and more) that they could possibly need. I really don’t need anything… Like those boots still sitting in the bag to be returned because I really don’t need new boots this year…
Rereading that, my answer sounds a little depressing, but it really isn’t to me. I get more joy out of making my family happy than I do out of things for myself. So I would rather not spend money on myself so I can spoil my family.
Know what I mean moms?
2. How well do you know your neighbors?
I am a LUCKY lady! I live in a fantastic neighborhood and have wonderful neighbors! Growing up, we really didn’t know the people who lived adjacent to us, other than in passing. But I have an awesome family that lives next door with four great kids. I love having a neighbor that I can mosey over to borrow an egg (done that) or chat while the kids play (all the time). Plus she’s just plain cool! (Hi Maria!) On the other side, I have another great neighbor, and while are kids aren’t as close she’s also a great neighbor who would be there for me in a jiff (and I for her). PLUS all my daughter’s BFFs and their fab moms live just down the street. Play time for my daughter and for me is just a few blocks away. Yep, I LOVE my suburban life!
3. What age are you looking forward to being?
Interesting question since my birthday is in 4 days.:) Last year I really struggled with turning 30 (gasp). Seriously, I was really bothered/depressed by leaving my 20s. This year, my birthday doesn’t really faze me, but at the same time, there isn’t really an age to look forward to specifically. I am just enjoying the ride.
4. Do you get excited when the mail comes? Why?
YES! I am like a kid at Christmas checking the mail everyday. The mailman bring so many wonderful things (as does the UPS and FedEx man!) — magazines, catalogs, freebies, birthday invitations, Christmas cards and so much more. I just love a good mail day, I wonder what’s in store for me today?
5. What is your earliest childhood memory?
Every time we make new memories with our daughter, I wonder what she will remember and I try to remember my own early memories. I think I have false early memories, things that I have seen pictures of so I think I remember the event but I really remember the photo. But the things I remember most from my childhood are little spinets of playing with my neighborhood friends, my birthday parties and my cousins. All of those memories make me smile, so I work hard to make sure my daughter makes similar happy memories of her own.

5 Question Friday
Every Friday, Mama M. hosts 5 Question Friday, here are my answers to her 5 questions. If you are feeling motivated, leave a comment answering the 5 questions about yourself, I love to learn about my readers!
1. How many pets do you have?
We have 2 Toy Yorkies – Bear and Bella. They were our first babies.
2. If you could switch places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be?
My sister. I think it would be really neat to walk a mile in her shoes. She does some awesome stuff, like going to the Grammy’s every year, but she’s also just so different then me I’d love to see the world from her perspective for the day.
3. What is your favorite money saving tip?
Coupons. I love coupons. But, of course, a coupon doesn’t do any good if you are buying things you wouldn’t have normally purchased anyway. So be careful with coupons, they can save you a ton on things you need, but they can also lead you to spend $ when you don’t need to.
4. What do you want your kids to be when they grow up?
Happy. I know, cheesy, but true. I am so all over the place with what I do that I have no preference. Plus she is two, she has no real interests yet. But I know it will be something wonderful. And I hope someday she gets to be a mom, because this is my FAVORITE job
5. What is your favorite quote?
Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is love. ~ 1 Corinthians 13

Every Friday, Mama M. hosts 5 Question Friday, here are my answers to her 5 questions. If you are feeling motivated, leave a comment answering the 5 questions about yourself, I love to learn about my readers!
1. Do you have any nicknames and if so how did it come about?
My family calls me Jeefer. Not really sure why Jeefer, but my uncle started calling me that when I was little and it just kind of stuck around – on that side of the family.
But I am the queen of nicknames for people… I don’t really call anyone by their full name. I always end up shortening it and/or coming up with something else. In fact, if you ask my daughter her name she will tell you KK. I don’t think she even knows her real name.
2. What is your birth order amongst your siblings?
First born, and a lot of the birth order things tend to old true for me…
3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other?
Ummmm… Hard to say, this has never really been my “thing.” It would have to be someone geeky, yet funny and outgoing… I KNOW, it would have to be Zachary Levi – they guy who plays Chuck Bartowski on Chuck. If my husband was a spy, this would be his life
4. What is currently your favorite song?
I have to go with Single Ladies by Beyonce only because my daughter LOVES the “OO” part. She gets totally into it when it comes on, so that’s my favorite part.
5. Are you saving your money for anything right now? Big or small purchase?
Always saving. I am a little squirrel. Nothing specific right now, but always saving for a rainy day… Every little penny counts, even if I don’t save much I am still squirreling it away.
