Growing up, mom always made sure we had the best Easter baskets. In fact, she still gives us the best Easter baskets! So far, I have slacked on Easter baskets for my daughter. She was 3 days old on her first Easter – so I didn’t do anything (Mimi had a basket for her), and last year I got her a stuffed bunny (Mimi had a giant basket for her).

This year I am all about a nice basket. However, this year finds me on a tighter budget… Not to worry, her basket is almost complete and it is FILLED with great stuff for a toddler! She is gonna love it!

The one thing her basket was missing was something stuffed… But I am supper exited that all Disney Store Easter Plush characters BOGO! Sweet! I am going with the mini bean bag Minnie Mouse & Mickey Mouse ($9.50 for both). As my husband said, easier for her to carry and less for us to store. =)

Here are the basket contents:

Easter Basket – last year’s (free)

Full-size Disney Bunnies coloring book ($1 at Dollar General)

Mini Disney Bunnies coloring book with stickers ($1 at Target)

Easter Bunny Sticker tablet ($1 at Joann’s – 40% off coupon)

Easter My Little Pony (Target BOGO with coupon – 2 Pony’s for $4.99, one to save)

Little People Easter girl and bunny ($3.99 Target)

Easter Bunny Ears ($1 Target)

Finding Nemo bathbook – learning colors ($1 Target)

Easter Minnie & Mickey (BOGO Disney Store $9.50 for both!)

Total basket cost – less than $20!

Keep checking Target for good deals, and check out the rest of the Hasbro coupons in the link above to see if something else would work for your basket. And don’t miss the Disney Store BOGO deal, the good stuff will go fast.

When Baskin Robbins asked if I would like to try one of its new ice cream treats, I jumped at the chance. Mama doesn’t pass up ice cream or chocolate! LOL

I had not heard of Baskin Robbins’ new Raspberry Fudge Truffle a la Mode or the Brownie a la Mode, but both sounded yummy. So after dinner, we headed out for a special Sunday-night treat at Baskin Robbins. I was surprised to learn that the new treats are ice cream cakes, I am not sure what I expected but I was definitely surprised (and excited) when we arrived at our local BR and realized we were getting an ice cream cake.

As we pulled into our local Baskin Robbins, my husband reminisced about the Baskin Robbins down the street from his house growing up. That BR is one of places Bobby and I both went to as kids, one of the many places we may have run across each other as kids and never knew it… but I digress.

The problem with going to an ice cream store is all of the temptation… while we don’t go out for ice cream often, I have a feeling we will be there again soon.

We chose to get the Brownie a la Mode, “Indulge in layers of mini chocolate caramel cups, fudge brownie pieces and caramel over Chocolate ice cream on a base of crushed chocolate cookie.”

In case you are interested in the Raspberry Fudge Truffle, “Mini raspberry filled chocolate cups and white chocolate cookie pieces over chocolate fudge ice cream, a layer of raspberry topping and a crunchy base of crushed chocolate cookie.”

If you are looking for a rich, chocolate, ice cream treat, this is the desert for you. WOW – it was tasty and chocolaty. While the whole thing was good, my husband’s favorite part was the crushed chocolate cookie bottom, but my favorite part was still the chocolate ice cream goodness.

My one hang up was the mini chocolate caramel cups on top. They looked like tiny peanut butter cups, which I LOVE, so when I took a bite, I really wanted peanut butter. I knew it was caramel, but my taste buds really wanted peanut butter. Don’t get me wrong, they were still darn good – I am just more of a peanut butter girl then caramel.

Alright, I have indulged the chocolate goodness for long enough. Here is the important part, these delicious ice cream cakes are part of the Baskin Robbins’ Grab-N-Go treats and they are only $9.99 each! That’s a lot of yummy for $10. Perfect for a last-minute desert for that dinner party or just to surprise the family with an after-dinner treat!

Since it was only my husband and I eating cake – with a few bites to my toddler – there is a lot leftover. So, I plan to share this treat with my friends on Friday night. I will be sure to let you know what they think.

Baskin Robbins provided me with a gift certificate to try this desert for this review, however, the thoughts and opinions in this review are completely my own.

If you are waiting to add The Princess and The Frog to your collection, I am sure you saw my post earlier for a $10 coupon. I just learned about 2 rebates you can combine with this to bring your total cost to $6.99 (plus tax) for the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack. Here’s the scoop:

On March 16, Target will have The Princess and The Frog DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack on sale for $26.99 (plus a free Princess Tiana Purse). Use the $10 printable coupon to bring your out-of-pocket cost to $16.99.

When you purchase your movie, pick up 2 Band-Aid products (because who doesn’t need these!). Children’s Band-Aids are on sale at Target for $1.82 each. You can use a Target $1 off Band-Aid coupon plus the $1 Band-Aid coupon from the 1/3 paper (if you still have it). (At the very least, use 2 Target coupons making the Band-Aids $0.82 each!) Then use this printable rebate form to get a check back for $5. (Note, it looks like they might even have Princess Tiana Band-Aids!)

Next, you will also need to buy Frogtape. I understand you can usually get this at hardware stores for $6 a roll. (For those who don’t know, Frogtape is basically green painters tape.) Since this is a specialty item, this rebate will only be good for you if you actually need this item, but hey, you might need some! Here is the rebate form.

If you do all of these, your final price for the combo will be $6.99. If you skip the Frogtape, you are still only looking at $11.99 – best price I have seen!

I am so excited to share Swagbucks with you. I joined Swagbucks in September 2009, and I wish I could remember who introduced me so I could thank them, but I can’t remember how I ran across it. Since September, I have earned approximately one $5 gift card to Amazon a month – five $5 gift cards to be exact. I “earned” $25 just by using Swagbucks to search for things I was looking for on the Internet. Searching, it really is that easy! Instead of going to Google, I go to Swagbucks search (powered by Google) and search. Not ever search is a winner, but enough are winners that the points add up.

There are lots of things you can redeem your points for – gift cards, music and tons of other stuff. But my favorite by far are $5 gift cards to Amazon (they are the most economical way to use your points too!).

Like many sites, if I refer you I get points. So, I do have a motive to recommend you, but I also LOVE to pass along free money! Plus, once you join, you can refer all of your friends and get points for them too!

So, I challenge you – sign up right now – it is free, so give it a shot! And start using Swagbucks for your searches. At first it takes a while, until you really start to remember to use it. But when points start adding up, you will start to remember.

Oh, and Swagbucks loves to give out “free codes,” so become a fan on Facebook to learn when they are out there.

Note – Swagbucks has a toolbar that you can download to help you remember to use it to search, but I found that the toolbar slowed my computer down, so I don’t use it.
